Our waldport Home With Attached vacation Condo

Stationed high on a hill above Waldport, Puma Point offers stunning, unobstructed views of Alsea Bay, the Alsea Bay Bridge, the town of Waldport and the Pacific Ocean.  We live in the three-bedroom main home, and welcome guests to our private vacation rental located above the garage.

This beautiful, spacious 1066-square-feet one-bedroom condo has its own garage and entrance. Designed for comfort and relaxation, it features a serene living room with two chairs, a comfortable sofa, a large-screen TV, and a cozy gas fireplace; a charming dining area; and a fully equipped kitchen with a large breakfast bar that also provides a convenient workspace.

There’s a lovely, scrupulously clean bathroom with both a shower and tub; a laundry room with a sink and a full-size washer and dryer; a deck with a BBQ; and a spacious bedroom with two comfortable beds — a California king and a twin.

You’ll have a breath-taking ocean view outside the west window in the bedroom —where two chairs provide a perfect spot to enjoy coffee or watch our glorious evening sunsets. There’s also a recliner in the bedroom — a relaxing place to nap or read a book.

From the deck you can watch the morning sun rise behind the Alsea Bay Bridge as crabbing and fishing boats motor in and out beneath it. The patio set is just right for soaking up the ocean air as you eat coffee and danish in the morning or lunch in the afternoon.

Views from all sides are a birdwatcher’s delight. You may see seagulls, cormorants, great blue herons, brown pelicans, osprey, bald eagles, towhees, red crossbills and swallows.

Built in 2019, Puma Point sits atop a “mature sand dune”, per the geologic survey. The home was carefully engineered for stability, supported by 14 helical piers drilled to the required point of resistance. A steel frame reinforces the southwest corner of the house to withstand winter coastal wind.

We named the house "Puma Point" after our security cameras captured a cougar making its neighborhood visits deep in the night several times as the house was under construction. We like to think it was watching over the house during that time. The cougar hasn’t been seen since we finished the house, but we have seen bears on the camera, and a bobcat in person.
